What a UK contractor quote should include
A quote that wins work does more than state a price. It carries your business details (and VAT number if registered), the client's name and property address, a unique reference and a validity period, a specific scope of works, itemised costs, clear exclusions, and payment terms with a deposit. This generator structures all of that for you — the same structure we recommend in our full guide to writing a contractor quote that wins jobs.
Pricing the job is the part no template can do. If you want the numbers as well as the paperwork, our trade pricing guides cover kitchens, bathrooms, driveways, roofing and extensions with 2026 benchmark figures.
Questions, answered
Is this quote generator really free?
Yes — completely. No signup, no email address, no watermarked nag screen. The PDF carries a single small 'Created free at speqly.com' line in the footer, and that's it.
Do you store the quotes I create?
No. The PDF is generated entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent to our servers, stored, or seen by us. Close the tab and it's gone.
How is VAT handled?
Tick 'VAT registered' and the PDF shows your VAT number, a subtotal, VAT at 20% and the total. Leave it unticked and the PDF states the total with a 'not VAT registered' line, so clients aren't left guessing.
Should I send a quote or an estimate?
A quote is a fixed price you're bound to once accepted; an estimate can change. For most residential work clients want the certainty of a quote — use the toggle at the top to switch the document heading.
